University is often described as one of the most social times of your life. But if we're being honest, it doesn't always feel that way.
You might walk into a lecture hall filled with hundreds of people and still feel like you don't really know anyone. Everyone seems busy, rushing to the next class, heading to work, or already sitting with friends.
The truth is, most students are feeling the exact same thing.
When people arrive at university, they come from all kinds of places and backgrounds. Some moved cities, some changed countries, and many are still adjusting to a completely new environment.
That means friendships don't always happen instantly.
Sometimes it starts with small moments:
Those little moments build connections over time.
One of the easiest ways to meet people is simply by doing something.

Not necessarily something big, just something outside your routine. Nichely, it's something called 'getting out of your comfort zone'.
Maybe it's:
Activities naturally break the ice. You're not forced to talk, conversation just happens.
Sometimes we imagine that university friendships have to be a big circle of people hanging out all the time. But often, the most meaningful connections are much smaller.
Finding your people rarely happens in the first week.
It might take a semester. It also might take sometimes longer.
But if you keep showing up, trying new things, and being open to meeting others, those connections slowly start to form.
Final thought: And one day, campus starts to feel a little more familiar, and a little more like home.
